Ripening of Coffee Beans
Ripening of Coffee Beans
Arabica is the most widespread of coffee species. The first cup of coffee was made from Arabica beans nearly 800 – 900 years ago. The Coffea Arabica trees that give us this type of coffee beans grow on the 900 to 2000 meters altitude above sea level. The beans are usually oblong, smooth with the line slightly curved and reminding S letter. This line usually contains the particles of coffee cherry, unburned during the light roast.
Классификация зерен и их сортировка
Classification and Sorting of Coffee Beans
Coffee grows and ripens in diverse climates and on different soils. The fruits are cropped and processed in different manners. That is why, after harvesting all the coffee beans are classified according to the set of criteria such as coffee tree species, place and altitude of growth, beans hardness, cultivar, processing type, quality of raw material preparation, roast, and grind.
Blending Coffee
Blending
When creating ArtCafe, we blend diverse single-origin Arabica varieties to get the certain taste. Such a blending allows completing the taste of one variety with properties of the other, so that they can reveal their true nature, not drowning out the positive qualities of each of the selected varieties. We carefully choose single-origin coffee taking into account geographical, botanical features, processing method (washed / unwashed grades), and grain size. Our blend includes no more than four types of coffee that is a guarantee of its excellent taste.
Roast
Roast
Further, our coffee beans go through the roasting process. Roasting is one of the main steps in getting a good coffee. When roasting, green coffee beans are used. These beans increase in volume and change their color from green to brown in the process. One kilogram of roasted coffee contains about 4-5 thousand grains. The roasting degree greatly affects the taste of the drink we get.
Production of Freeze-Dried Instant Coffee
Production of Freeze-Dried Instant Coffee
When producing the freeze-dried instant coffee, the roasted coffee beans are ground and processed with hot water. Then the obtained concentrated beverage is dried using the "freeze drying" process. The frozen crystals of the coffee extract are dehydrated by sublimation in vacuum using a low pressure and broken into small particles. The vacuum freeze-drying process removes moisture from the product by evaporating the ice. Dehydrated coffee is ground with knives into pyramid granules familiar to buyers. The thus prepared freeze-dried coffee is impregnated with the essential oils collected by the filter system during the hot-water processing phase that allows recovering its usual flavor. During sublimation, the product is not treated by heat, and thus retains more than 95% of useful substances.
Coffee Packaging
Coffee Packaging
We have selected the right package for our coffee. Coffee ArtCafe is packed in glass jars. Freeze-dried instant coffee in a glass jar is safe from exposure, and remains fresh throughout the shelf life. The tightness is achieved due to a specific foil membrane, applied to the neck of the container. Such an attachment also allows to control the first opening, that is, you can be sure that the container has not been opened before. A glass jar will also serve after you have drunk your coffee: it can be used as a vessel for friable seasonings or a fragrant tonic.
